Buxton Cricket Club was founded in 1853. The club plays its home matches at the picturesque Buxton Park, a county ground as recently as the mid 1980s. The addition of new covers in 2003 and a new fixed practise net facility in 2004 make the club one of the best equipped in the area. The club has recently been awarded a sizeable grant to modernise the clubhouse.
Buxton Cricket Club fields two senior teams on Saturdays who will be playing in the PS Derbyshire and Cheshire Cricket League in 2008, and 4 junior teams from U11 to U17. There is a Sunday senior side which plays friendly matches. The Club is working towards Clubmark Accreditation and aims to become a Clubmark Club by 2009 season.
The club is looking for players of all abilities to join the side. If you are interested in a new cricketing challenge contact Jim Wilson at jew912@hotmail.com.
